I do a lot of car travel for work and enjoy taking the boy’s and Mimzy with me. However, while I am actually working they need a safe place to play. I have found there are Children’s Museums EVERYWHERE and many of them are part of the Association of Children’s Museum Reciprocal program. This means that I bought a membership to the Boston Children’s Museum with the boy’s birthday money for $125 for a years membership and it get’s us into more than 100 children’s museums nationwide and over 200 science museums. If we paid out of pocket to go to the Boston Children’s Museum it would be $48 for 4 of us. We have already gone 3 times which has more than paid for our membership. We have also visited 2 other museums and plan on going to a couple more in the next few months. Besides the cost savings I find the freedom in coming and going as we please to be a HUGE benefit. My guys are 2 1/2 years old, they still nap and only have so much stamina. With the membership I don’t feel pressured to get my money’s worth time wise or seeing everything. I have a feeling we will be doing this every year until they outgrow the museums.
